The Science and Engineering Division of the National Federation of the Blind
is pleased to sponsor a new list called Tactile-Talk. This list has been
created to explore the new and exciting area of the display of graphics and
pictures on refreshable Braille devices like the Monarch from the American
Printing House for the Blind, and the Graphiti from Orbit Research.

The official list description is:

This list is sponsored by the National Federation of the Blind, NFB,

and the Science and Engineering Division of the NFB.

The name of this list is Tactile-Talk. It is a place to discuss

Graphical Tactile Displays and their use to show pictures and graphical data
used in STEM and other disciplines.

Initially the list will primarily discuss the Monarch from the American
Printing House for the Blind, and the Graphiti from Orbit Research. As they
develop, other technologies can and should be included.

The list is for announcements, asking questions, exchanging tips and tricks
discussing strengths and weaknesses of given technologies,

and anything else that relates to the display of graphics on refreshable
devices. We are excited by the emergence of this new area and want to help
it grow and prosper.

The list is moderated by John Miller. You can reach him at:
