Drs. Adam Schmidt and Sarah Victor (MPIs) are seeking two research
coordinators to work on a grant-funded study examining the role of
discrimination and social exclusion on the physical and mental health of
children who are blind or visually impaired. These positions will be
full-time benefits eligible positions housed within the Department of
Psychological Sciences at Texas Tech University. The coordinators will work
with the PIs, graduate students, and undergraduate students involved to
implement and manage the study. Duties will include online and in-person
participant recruitment, participant data collection, and project
management. Some overnight travel and evening or weekend availability will
be required throughout the project for recruitment of participants and
their families.



Preferred Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in psychology,
neuroscience, special education, social work, or closely related field at
time of hire; experience with research participant recruitment (or similar
outreach activities); experience with data management and participant
tracking programs such as Qualtrics and Redcap; experience conducting human
subjects or basic science research; lived personal or other experience with
visual impairment or another disability; and familiarity with working with
children with disabilities and their families. Relocation to the Lubbock
campus of Texas Tech University is also preferred.

until the positions are filled. The desired term of employment is at least
24 months, with the possibility of continuing appointment throughout the
duration of the grant (5 years). Opportunities to analyze data and
