[NFB-Science] Seeking Healthcare Students and Professionals

Hello, friends!

My name is Jenn Han and I’m a graduated nursing student as of this week! I
am seeking any and all students and professionals in the healthcare field,
in hopes of creating a healthcare division or group within the NFB. This is
NOT limited to clinicians only, so please know I invite anyone involved in
healthcare, whether in the clinical or academic setting, to please reach
out to me.


The intent of this effort would be to:

1. Build a solid community within the industry to network, discuss, and
grow together
2. Take action in big issues such as accessibility in medical devices and
electronic medical records, discrimination in healthcare programs/licensing
exams, accommodations in clinical and academic settings, etc.
3. Increase an equitable and inclusive culture in healthcare programs and
careers
4. Increase our presence in the healthcare industry, motivate the next
generation of blind students to pursue a field in healthcare, and host
future efforts for education and advocacy within the field

I believe we are overdue for something like this, but it starts by
gathering members in the community. Please share with anyone you know as
