At some point fairly close to the beginning of Covid lockdown, Chancey Fleet at the Andrew Heiskell library for the blind, here in New York City, was running a workshop on soldering for Blind/VI. I remember the time frame because I’d signed up for it, and was told there were so many signed up that they were going to have two sessions. I was asked if I”d be willing to move to the second session as they were trying to let the first one be for people with more rrrelevant experience. Then Covid lockdown happened and the second session never did. Anyway, that’s all I know, but someone might want to get in touch with her about this. Email: ChanceyFleet at NYPL.org

    If I recall correctly, the early issues of the Smith Kettlewell Technical File had articles on how a blind person could solder.
I would suggest getting some sighted help for the first few attempts. Caution, hot solder will hurt!!
