[nfb-talk] A Story

This morning I was crossing a busy 5 lane street. My guide dog, Walker,
and I got across 2 lanes and he stopped. Without even thinking I did what
you're supposed to do, reach out with a foot and a hand to see if there's
something in front of you. I realized there were cars in the intersection,
traffic was backed up a whole block. Instead of going around, I decided to
go back and wait for the next light. I got to the curb and I was standing
there for a few seconds when a lady pulled up and offered me some money.

"Here's some money."
"Money, what for?"
"Don't you want this money?"
"What would I want money for?"
"Okay."

She got back in her car and drove off. Then I realized she thought I had
gone into the street to beg from the people in the cars.

Hmmmm... Maybe I should start dressing a little better.
