Oh boy -- I feel a long thread coming about this one...*sigh*
The funny thing about this bio is that I grew up with the same visual 
limitations as Patterson.  I used my right eye and a cctv but I also learned 
braille as I saw the value in it, even if I wasn't using it as my primary 
medium of communication.
I hope you put this one on the napub list as well.
