Durable? You've got to be kidding. You might be right with respect to reel-to-reel tape although I actually preferred it to cassettes. And CD's can be scratched. But try to splice the tape in a cassette or disentangle one and the love-affair quickly fades! And if the tape duplicator heads were dirty or misaligned ...
