[nfb-talk] Braille Monitor

Dear all,

Thumb drives will work, be smaller, but CD-ROMs might be considered too and
could play as an MP3.
They could even use the mini CD-ROMs that look like a CD, but are cut down
in size and are sometimes used for demos.
They would be cheaper, but do the job and are disposable.
They too, could travel "Free Matter for the Blind and Physically
Handicapped."
They could play on any common CD player or DVD drive.
Thumb drives are a lot of memory and that is what you pay for.
I think that ht e mini CD-ROM is the right substitute for the audio tape.

I have been the editor and producer of both my chapter newsletter since 1988
and the Florida State Affiliate newsletter at one point and produced them on
audio tape, in large print and by e-mail.
I think that this is the easiest and cheapest method to use as I see it.
Until more Blind people gain the use of computer technology and can down
load the Monitor.
73.4% of all Blind people are over the age of 65 years old. This population
group is becoming increasingly expose to technology, but most are not there
yet and we will potentially leave them behind if we jump to far ahead in the
use of technology. Can we afford to leave behind almost 75% of the
population we are here to serve?
