Oh, thank you so much. I'll check these sites out. My parents, 81 and 88,
still drive, so won't use services, but I'm totally blind, live in Berkeley,
Ca. where we have both fixed route busses and subway transit, and am not
eligible for paratransit because I use regular transit. Again, thanks.

Karen

Hi Karen,
I do not live in Raleigh my self, but I grew up in North Carolina and
currently live in Greensboro, NC. I have been to Raleigh a few times, and
they do have a transit system as well as a paratransit system. The
fixed-route bus system there is called Capital Area Transit (CAT), and the
paratransit system is called Accessible Raleigh Transportation (ART.) Here
is a link to the Capital Area Transit webpage from the Raleigh city
government's site that has all of the links, phone numbers, and information
you will need to find out about these services:
http://www.raleighnc.gov/services/content/PWksTransit/Articles/CapitalAreaTr
ansit.html
There is another site as well with transit information at:
http://www.GoTriangle.org
You can also call the GoTriangle Regional Call Center for information at
(919) 485-7433.
Also, if your parents do not already use the Accessible Raleigh
Transportation service, which is the paratransit service in Raleigh, they
may qualify due to their age, which will enable them to get around Raleigh
also.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
