[nfb-talk] {Disarmed} Fw: Avoiding the FiscalCliff andSequestration

I was just reading an update from Move-On which is a Liberal-based movement
and here is what it said...remember, this is only seconds in my in-box.
And, remember this is something proposed by the President...

This week we asked you and other MoveOn members whether MoveOn should make a
final push to stop proposed Social Security cuts in the fiscal showdown
negotiations.

As of now, with more than 185,000 votes cast, an overwhelming 96.8% of
MoveOn members are in favor. And MoveOn members have already chipped in over
$150,000 to enable this work.

The embarrassing debacle in Congress last night, in which members of Speaker
John Boehner's own party undermined him by rejecting his fiscal showdown
plan, has weakened Republicans' hand and gives us a new opening to stop this
bad deal.

So here's our three-step plan to keep up the pressure:
1.	Show there's not enough support from Democrats in Congress to pass
the bad deal reported in the press.

2.	Call on the President to rescind his offer to cut Social Security
benefits.

3.	Turn up the heat on Republicans-who are refusing to allow an
up-or-down vote in the House on tax cuts for 98% of Americans.
MoveOn members have made this important decision together to go forward with
a big, final push against cuts to Social Security including hard-hitting TV
ads, on-the-ground events, and other grassroots campaigning-and we'll need
at least $200,000 to get noticed.

Any questions? Folks, this is something I have ben listening to for the
past couple of weeks and if you had not heard this, in regards to the
proposed Social Security cuts, then you had better start tuning in.

Steve

Well, I can almost guarantee we will. I can also just about guarantee that
unless we treat this subject rationally, like intelligent adults, this
threat will very quickly deteriorate in to an absolutely worst than useless
debate and or shouting match consisting of clames by the left against the
right and back the other way. Now, I say this this soon in the thread
because I do not want to see this happen. I do very sincerely hope the
following:

1. We do not uselessly speculate on what will happen to us based on any
kind of stupid fly by second conspiracy theory.

2. That, when and or if we do go over, that we act like the intelligent
people we all clame to b and not let our unstable human emotions get in the
way; as they may be prone to do with something like this.

3. That if, by some strange chance, we do manage to go off the rails on
this, that it is brought to a screeching halt.

Sincerely,
The Constantly Barefooted Ray

But I doubt SSDI will. If you think otherwise and have sources to state
that, please share.

This probably includes me and I want rehab services for Mobility training,
equipment upgrades and the little help they give me in finding a job.
