[nfb-talk] nfb-talk Digest, Vol 55, Issue 66

Robert Ortiz bobby7391 at optimum.net
Sun Dec 23 04:02:01 UTC 2012

Everyone,

I also feel as Mark does. I enjoy talking to people of all political
stripes, persuasions and colors. And I would like to point out that the
NFB is concerned with political matters as well because of the way politics
affects us all as blind people in our society. And this is what we in the
NFB are all about.

So let's continue today and in the days and years ahead to continue to
engage in civil discourse about how political, social, legal, and economic
issues impacts the lives of all our blind fellow citizens and fellow NFB
members. Because if we are truly here to promote the philosophy of a better
and more independent lifestyle for the blind, then let's not shy away from
civilly disagreeing agreeably as the Rev Martin Luther King Jr always
reminded people to do.

Sincerely, Robert Ortiz, a passionate liberal.

This is one of the nice things about our organization. Conservatives,
liberals, people who tend to be middle of the road, all of us can fit into
the Federation, because we believe in the right of the blind to be fully
integrated into society and recognize the responsibilities that this will
involve.
