[nfb-talk] nfb-talk Digest, Vol 55, Issue 85

Robert Ortiz bobby7391 at optimum.net
Sun Dec 23 05:50:20 UTC 2012

Dear Joshua and Mr. Andrews,

As I previously posted, I won't violate the rules since Mr. Andrews says
that political debates are not permited here. But I would like to ask
anyone who may know of such a forum to please direct me as well. Also I've
said before, I'm new to the NFB and to the NFB's discussion groups, but I am
not new to blindness related issues. And since politics is still my
personal favorite subject, I would go wherever I have to go to have such
discussions. If Joshua started a yahoo group devoted to politics, I would
go there. If Mr. Andrews could suggest any such forum, I would happily go
there as well.

Thankyou anyone and everyone who may have any ideas for me.

Sincerely, Robert Ortiz.

No there isn't, but there needs to be.
The reason being, is that before, Mr. Andrews told us that we couldn't have
one.
He told us that if we wanted to discuss these things, that we needed to go
on a different forum that already exists.
The problem is, that most of those forums are run by sighted people, and
sighted people are crazy!
They try to keep us out of their forums, because of something called a
captcha!
I can't access captchas, and I can't get Web Vissum to work.
Since we can't discuss this on an NFB list, please help me start a Yahoo
Group devoted to this!
Blessings, Joshua

Cindy and everyone,

I'm sorry if I'm coming on a little too strong, but I do think it is
appropriate for all of us to freely discuss our political views and
preferences right here, as NFB members. None of us can deny just how much
politics affects Social Security, Medicare, etc; and thus, all of our lives
as blind people. I admit I'm new to this discussion group, but anything
that affects the lives of NFB members, such as political, economic and
social issues, seems appropriate to me for discussion here.

But if I'm wrong, I guess the administrator of this discussion group can
explain the rules here more clearly to me.

Sincerely, Robert Ortiz, a passionate liberal.

Just wondering if this discussion is appropriate here. Our personal
political affiliations are one thing. But, promoting one party over another
on an NFB list seems out of place to me.

Yah, irt seems like the3 republicans have been a lot more active when it
concerns cut backs to our populations. Not to be to hard about it but I
can't see why folks vote republican with our economy the way it is! Look at
Michigans Governor! Je3ez! Well, not to start an argument but the
republican regeme tends to make it hard for those of us who are just trying
to get by!
