[nfb-talk] Honoring our NFB legends!

I find it interesting that Dr. Maurer checks his phone messages more than he
does his email messages. I certainly do not mean this as a criticism. I
can think of a number of perfectly good reasons why this may be so. I also
have to wonder, just out of curiosity, if he is one of these people, like I
certainly was, who had to be dragged kicking and screaming into the age of
the Internet, emails, Windows as opposed to DOS-based systems, etc. I
remember as late as 1996 asking a friend of mine who was always on the net,
why not just make a phone call, wouldn't that be easier? Well, even with
her very reasonable answer, it took me several years before I saw my first
email, and a little after that before I went on-line. I still often think
low tech can often work rather well. But this is just speculation
concerning Dr. Maurer. After all, my father never got into the computer,
even though my mother is quite comfortable emailing and going on-line.

Let me know how it goes. I'd wait until after this year's convention,
but we'll see what he says.
