[nfb-talk] Jimmy Kimmel Video--Blind Ref

Steve, I actually agree with you and didn't have a problem with it. But NFB
has protested other attempts at comedy such as SNL's spoof about Governor
Paterson. Just wondered about opinions on the list.

Actually, the intent was similar to the NFL fill-in refs where they were
essentially making horrible calls at a recent NBA playoff game. Lot's of
people jumped on board, and dressed as blind refs for Halloween. Sometimes,
I think that the blind community might be a little super-sensative regarding
non-malicious attempts to make people laugh as here, the target was not the
blind, but the refs. For the NFB to respond would really make the NFB
appear to be just exactly what I eluded to...super-sensative. I am not
condoning it, but when you are dealing with comedians, anyone, any culture
is and can be the intended, or in this case, the untended perceived target.

Just my opinion, Steve

Even without being able to see the video, I can guess that it is most likely
supposed to bill itself as a heart warming story but is anything but. Past
rediculous.
