[nfb-talk] Jimmy Kimmel Video--Blind Ref

I would call it a mixed message, which is what we get a lot of the time,
anyway. I hope, and this probably won't be the case in my lifetime, that a
time will come when a spoof like this will really be acceptable because we
are truly accepted and valued as normal humans. It would make a good
discussion topic at our orientation centers and others, but the tenor of the
discussion would be greatly influenced by how it was described.

I really appreciate the information. Then if it's a spoof on refs, I don't
see what all the fuss is about.

This piece is intended as a farce; it's making fun of all those
uber-inspirational movies. It's meant to be more absurd than anything
else.

Apparently all his calls are spot on, which I suppose is meant to be even
funnier.

The end of the piece is interesting in that someone shouts at him asking if
he's blind, and he turns around and takes off his glasses in a super smooth
way and says "As a matter of fact, I am." His eyes are clear and bright,
not discolored in some fake blind way.
