[nfb-talk] White Cane observances

Good Sunday afternoon to all.  

 

I submitted this to the writers list earlier, but I wanted to reach the
broder NFB audience as well.  

 

About a month from now many chapters will have events surrounding the annual
proclamation of White Cane Day.  

 

I came up with some ideas for slogans that could be used in communications
in conjunction with this event.  I am posting what I created below for your
inspiration.

White Cane Slogans 

 

Hit and run; good in baseball, bad in driving.  

Pay attention, it only costs a moment.  

A rushed right on red could make someone dead.  

Beware of the dog that guides even in fog.  

The white cane we wield, so be sure to yield.  

Look for the blind as we listen for you.  

The white cane is my shepherd's staff.  

Give way to the paw, it's the law.  

Watch for the wheelchairs, this isn't roller derby.  

Those who need to rol Really rock as well.  

There are other wheels than cars on the road.  

Watch like a hawk for those who walk.
