EMPLOYEES SUPERVISED: Program, Development and Administrative Staff
POSITION STATUS: Exempt
POSITION DESCRIPTION: One of New Hampshire's most established and respected non-profits, the New Hampshire Association for the Blind, is seeking new leadership. The successful candidate for the position of President & CEO will have a proven track record of leadership in non-profits. Areas of competency necessary to function in this role include institutional vision and strategic planning, organizational development, personnel management, financial management, fundraising, public relations, marketing and volunteer coordination.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Master's Degree (M.A.) or equivalent; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to administer private, non-profit service organizations and an understanding of the legal responsibilities and constraints of such organizations.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with federal, state, regional and local agencies, community leaders and the general public.
Ability to effectively supervise staff, build teamwork and provide executive leadership for Board, volunteers and staff.
Ability to obtain and manage external grants and contracts.
CRITICAL JOB TASKS:
Responsible for the overall administration of New Hampshire Association for the Blind activities. Responsibilities include: executive leadership, Board development, human resource management, financial management, strategic planning, fundraising, general administration, program development, public relations, legislation, budget development and monitoring.
Provides visionary and strategic leadership in order to advance the mission of NHAB.
Serves as the primary staff resource for the New Hampshire Association for the Blind Board of Directors to assure effective communication.
Works to ensure that all NHAB activities, programs and services are mission driven.
