[nfb-talk] Can we please stop the political discussion on this list?

I thaught our purpose is sort of political! Having said that we are composed
of all sorts of folks. Our purpose to me is to learn how to work with the
powers that be wherever they come from and make sure our rites and
priveledges are protected. Our responsibility whom ever is at the helm is to
make sure us passengers have a say in which direction the boat goes! We may
have to change our approach as an organization to combat what changes we may
find threatening but, its happened before and I'm sure will happen again!

I also think separating contents and distributing different comments to
different lists is a good idea. In the beginning of the discussion, we
talked about the new administration and blindness. I suggested several
things we can do as blind people. Unfortunately, there were people
attacking each other on the list instead of taking their argument off list.
I also think people should be able to join political or any other discussion
groups outside the blindness community. I, for instance, joined a local
book group at the library. I am the only blind person there, but that
really does not matter as we always have interesting book discussions.
