Anybody have any experience doing a triathlon?

I'm wondering how you do the swim. How do you swim in the right 
direction? Maybe have someone in a kayak ahead of you? You'd probably 
have to get special dispensation from the organizers for that.

Then there is the bike part. I think a lot of blind people do the bike 
leg on a tandem bike. But that probably means your time is unofficial, 
right?

I've been in a lot of foot races. I run with a sighted guide on a 
teather. But I think that makes my time unofficial too.
