I think you are correct, Shannon.  And you have to look really carefully because those fake emails can look awfully genuine.

It is not just those carriers. It is most every platform where people are being hacked, and their email accounts are being mimicked. You have to look closely at the sender and not at other aspects of the message. I have seen this with roadrunner, Outlook, Gmail, Etc.

                  If you’re on Spectrum this is happening all over the place. I’ve heard from several folks who said they received messages from both Mary and I with links to inappropriate content. We use Gmail and Spectrum for our e-mail. Hack messages are not coming through on our Google Account but we’re getting them via our Spectrum Accounts. I’ve even gotten hack messages from Mary and viseversa. People we’re not into that game. What Mark told you also applies to us. We’re slowly migrating our e-mail correspondence to our gmail accounts to stop this nonsense. Spectrum will hear from us as well. This is not what we pay $100 a month for. All the best.

  If you get an email that says it is from me, but the email account says presidentpt088 at gmail.com, please do not reply.  That is not my account, so it looks like I am being hacked.  Unless it’s really business related, my signature will say Nuclear Arms will not Hold You.  Thank you.
