i’m wondering if the event should be audio described? Bonnie Barlow is a professional audio describer and she just might be perfect to have somebody that can describe what’s going on in the moment versus some app or some book. Let me know your thoughts, and I can provide and, Mail or phone number

First off, I apologize if this is off topic, but this idea has been in my head for a while, and I want to discuss it.

I recently attended a couple of dog shows in my area, and I used the AIRA service for commentary. I love dogs.

If you’ve checked out the Westminster dog show, there’s usually an announcer telling everyone what dog they’re looking at and something about it. Yet at smaller dog shows, there may or may not be a house commentator.

This makes me wonder if there’s the need for an audio buyer’s guide to dogs, either as an app, on a device similar to those at museums, or even just accessible to anyone with an mp3 player. While the blindness community could possibly benefit from this, I’m wondering if this kind of guide could possibly benefit everyone.

As I envision it, the guide would give information about the dog breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club. The content would be written by knowledgeable writers and narrated by capable voice talent.

Is there a need for a tool like this? I’m not even sure where to begin, so I’m looking for any ideas on how this thing could be of benefit. Please contact me, either privately or on the list. Thanks.
