NFB National Convention Will Be Here Before We Know It, And We Are Excited
To Announce Our National Community Service Project In Dallas During The
2012 Convention.
Come join us as we host a Mid-Summer Party for the Kids at the Family
Gateway Homeless Shelter, filled with crafts, activities, and fun for the
kids.

Organization: *Family Gateway Shelter
*
Date: *Saturday, June 30, 2012
*
Time: *9:00 am – 2:00 pm* (This includes traveling time, set up/cleaan up
time, and the actual event. Time is also allotted for lunch together
afterwards (location TBA), but unfortunately, the NFB will not be able to
pay for lunch.
Transportation: Will be providing transport for everyone signed up to and
from the Shelter back to the Anatole Hotel.
Number of Participants: Due to limited space, we are only able to take the
first 13 individuals who sign up and complete the background check form.
Meeting Time: *9:00 am* -- The group will meet at the Hilton Anatole Hotel
lobby (2201 North Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75207).
*A Few Rules To Follow...............................

1. *Background Check* - Everyone wanting to participate in this
event *must
complete a background check*. The form (attached) consists of some basic
information needed, it must be completed and signed in order to be
accepted. This is standard when one is interacting with children in order
to ensure their full safety. Please email a scanned copy of the background
check to sshams at familygateway.org or fax to 214-823-2475. *PLEASE
NOTE:* *Deadline
is Monday, June 25, 2012*.
2. No Photographs of the children due to the confidentiality requirements
of the shelter.
3. One may not ask about specific details of children’s personal
situation at the shelter.
What Better Way To Come Together As Fellow Federationists And Make New
Friends While Sharing Your Gift Of Time To Help Rethink Both Blindness In
Society And Homelessness In Our Communities. Let Us Rise To Help Our
Homeless Children, and Let's Get Involved.
If you wish to sign up to be part of our National Community Service
Project, *please contact Marcey Gonzalez at marceygonzalez at gmail.com* to
sign up. Remember, you have been officially signed up when you have
contacted us with name, state, e-mail, and phone number and have included
the background check (individuals on a first-come-first-served basis). An
email will be sent as we approach convention with further details for all
those that have confirmed to participate.
*Remember, Deadline is Monday, June 25, 2012.*
If you cannot participate this year, your donations are also greatly
appreciated.
