[NFB-Utah] Love & support needed...

Greetings federation family,

 

It is with heavy heart that I send this email. Our dear chapter friends, David and Sadie Carrillo, tragically lost their baby Lucien to breathing complications this week. As you can imagine, this came as a terrible shock. Our chapter put together a care basket on behalf of the NFB of Utah. If you feel so inclined, you can help ease their financial burden in one of 2 ways. 

 

1. A GoFundMe account has been set up for funeral costs. Follow the link below to donate. If the administrative fee is a concern for you, when asked what percentage you’d like to add, just check other and specify zero.

I’m told that if you’d like to avoid a fee, indicate that the purpose of the donation is for “friends and family”, then add a note to the effect of “David and Sadie Carrillo family”. (I donated this way and found the purpose was already selected as “NFB of Utah”, but it’s possible I missed something.)

 

Whether you donate, or not, please keep this sweet family in your thoughts and prayers. After all, this is supporting our own. David serves as the president of the  Utah Association of Blind Students and little Lucien was a candidate for the Utah BELL Academy. A measure of the pain and loss David’s family is experiencing is now our loss, too.
