Good Afternoon,

 

Please share to Utah residents who may be interested, including via listserves to blind individuals and their families, as well as those who work with blind individuals.

Please find the form below to register braillers for service during the 2022-2023 school year, by a Perkins Certified a technician. (There will be no cost for services, as long as funding is available!)

If you have several braillers needing repairs, please contact Sarah Erb via phone or email (below) to discuss.

We are also accepting applications until May 31st, 2022 for those who would like to apply to be trained and Perkins Certified in Braille Repair, Levels 1-3. 8 training days, 8 hours each day. Priority will be given to individuals who:

 

Have previous experience in Brailler repair yet lack certification.

Are passionate about braille and braille access to blind students and adults in utah.

Are able to dedicate time and energy into learning the skill of brailler repair by servicing several braillers in 2022 & 2023.

Are able to do fine motor work with their hands, using small parts.

Speak a second or additional languages on addition to English.

Possess a solid work ethic and time management skills.

Are business-minded and customer service oriented.

Are able to problem solve & persevere through difficulties.

 

Location: DSBVI in Salt Lake City, UT

 

Dates: June 21-30, 2022 training days are 8 hrs each day.
