Happy November!


I hope you had a wonderful Halloween yesterday and didn’t eat too much candy! I have a couple of quick announcements so buckle up!


First off, our next meeting is next Thursday, November 10th! We are having a special guest join us and you won’t want to miss it! We will be having a discussion on the resources in and out of school that are offered for us as students.


Next, fundraising! UABS will begin fundraising really soon and would appreciate all the help they can give! More details will come soon. Another fundraising activity going on is with the National Association of Blind Students. I have shared the email down below and if you can, please consider helping in supporting NABS!


NABS Fundraising:


We are thrilled to officially launch our holiday drinkware fundraiser, a

partnership with DotShop! Anytime between now and noon (Central Standard

Time) on Monday, November 21, you can place your order. It is our intent

for orders to arrive before winter holiday celebrations conclude; however,

please remember that we are at the mercy of the USPS.



Starting today, you can purchase an 11 ounce coffee mug, a 20 ounce

tumbler, or your desired combination of both items using the below link.

These items come with an original design (description found below) and can

be customized with Braille, too.



Design:


Snowy background with pine trees covered in snow and a few faint snow

mountains very far back.  Over all is a group of snow people; Female with

pink and white hat with one pompom and scarf with german shepard in harness

looking across the way; smaller female with blue hat with 2 pompoms and

spotted scarf with white cane in hand; smaller male snow person with green

and yellow hat and scarf; smallest male snow person with red and

yellow/brown hat and scarf and white cane; smaller female snow person with

tan hat with ridges like cat ears and scarf; largest male snow person with

purple fedora and stripped scarf and sitting in front and slightly to the

side is yellow lab in harness looking at smaller snow people in between

other guide dog.  At top in large all caps same blues as snow person hat is

“TOGETHER” with snowflakes inside the letters.  Below in grade 2 braille

is, “TOGETHER” in blue braille.
