January 2, 2024 at 1 PM to 2:00 pm at Red Rock Center for Independence, 168 N 100 E, St. George 

 

1: Roll Call /Introduction of participants.  Where are you from and a hobby you like to do.

2:  National news/Update of the NFB:  presenter  Everette Bacon

3: NFB State news/Update of the NFB   presenter  Everette Bacon

4: The pledge:  Recite pledge of the National Federation of the Blind

I pledge to participate actively in the efforts of the National Federation of the Blind to achieve quality opportunity and security for the blind, to support the policies and programs of the Federation, and to abide by its constitution.

5: Accept December meeting minutes, treasurer’s report

6.  All who are interested in the board member seats, the president position,  the vice president position and secretary:  Set up procedure for election in February. Each candidate gets five minutes to give their background, and what makes them qualified for this position. Share their goals for the organization and members. After each candidate has done so, each position will be voted on.
 
7:  Topic for discussion:  Proposed criteria to use discount from St. George Shuttle. 

8: Discuss ideas for direction of Chapter:

 

(A) Try to attract younger members 

 

(B) Continue to improve voting systems.


9:  Discuss having a yearly calendar
