NFB of Utah Looking for Volunteers for 

Summer STEM2U Program

 

The National Federation of the Blind of Utah is looking for volunteers for our 2025 STEM2U Program this Summer on Saturday JUNE 28, 2025, in Salt Lake City, UTAH. This is a great opportunity to meet some great kids and add some great skills to your resume.

 

Who: Blind and Visually Impaired Volunteers who are over 18 years of age and can pass a background check to participate. No prior STEM experience is required. 

 

What: The STEM2U Event is a day long program designed to help blind and visually impaired youth learn about the scientific method in a fun, unique, hands-on and fully accessible way, that gives them the confidence and independence to participate in science in a way they may have never experienced before. You will help participants learn through activities involving observation, prediction, and testing to tackle the scientific world of physics, technology, chemistry, and engineering, in exciting and innovative ways. 

 

Date(s): Saturday June 28, 2025 is the STEM2U main event; Plus you will be required to attend two additional Zoom training courses lasting approximately 1 Hour each (one pre-event, one post-event).

 

Time: The day of the event, you will need to arrive by 8:30 AM and stay until 5:30 pm to help with set up and clean up. Lunch will be provided on the day of the event.

 

Location: The STEM2U event will be held at the Division of Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired/DSBVI located at 250 N. 1950 W., Salt Lake City, Utah.
