I’m Ken Duke—marathoner, Grand-father of 9, retired software engineer, and proud President of the Salt Lake Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) of Utah. For over 21 years, the NFB has been more than an organization to me—it’s been a lifeline, a launchpad, and a community that helped me discover what it truly means to live boldly and independently as a blind person.

On December 7, I’ll be running my 65th marathon at the California International Marathon (CIM). This isn’t just a race—it’s a celebration of resilience, purpose, and the power of community. Every mile I run is a tribute to the NFB’s mission: helping blind individuals live the lives they want, without limits.

I’m running as part of Team NFB, alongside fellow athletes, and advocates, to raise funds that fuel life-changing programs, mentorship, and advocacy. My personal goal is to raise $1,500, and I’d be honored if you’d support me—whether by donating, sharing this post, or simply cheering us on.

Special thanks to my incredible Achilles Utah guides—your support makes every step possible.

Let’s move forward together. Let’s build a future where blindness is not a barrier—but a different way of seeing the world.
