For anyone interested, I am sending out lyric files of the newest updates to the LDS hymn files. If you don’t want this, just send it to live with the syber-angels in syber-heaven and press delete. Feel free to download and use these files and share them.

 

The hymns for home and church lyrics with the new updates is attached. There are 3 files.

 

1.	A braille ready file (BRF) formatted for braille displays is attached. Page numbers and blank spaces were removed except 2 spaces in front of each hymn number have been added to make an indentation in order to  separate them. Most hard returns are also removed so that paragraph navigation makes it fast to jump from verse to verse, and to the information such as key signature, copyright info and scriptures. This could be embossed, but page numbers were omitted and formatting to take page breaks was omitted to make use with e-readers and other braille displays easier.
2.	               A Microsoft document “.docx” file. All of the same information is in this file, but heading levels have been added at level 1 for categories “Sabath and weekdays” and “Easter and Christmas” and headings at level 2 for each hymn. This will enable quick key navigation on a computer, I also hope that this makes creating html files easier for those wishing to do that. The hard returns were also omitted except for a hard return at the end of each verse, a hard return at the end of each section of information about each hymn that is listed on the church website, including the following.

•key signatures meter and tune names

•copyright information

•scripture references

There is also a blank line between each hymn to separate them.

Most devices can read this including braille displays and book readers, but not all, check your individual device to learn if it will work with Microsoft word files.

3.	A plain text document, (.txt) file. This was copied from the Microsoft word file, but the heading levels are not present, but the hard returns are still in place. This file will work on almost all devices including most smart phones, mac computers, braille displays, and audio book readers with speech synthesizers.

 

I may have included human errors and mistakes. Please be patient with them. I find new things I missed each time and try my best to fix them in new releases.

  1001. Come, Thou Fount of Ev’ry Blessing.
1. Come, Thou Fount of ev’ry blessing; Tune my heart to sing Thy grace. Streams of mercy, never ceasing, Call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, Sung by flaming tongues above. Praise the mount; I’m fixed upon it: Mount of Thy redeeming love.

The prophet Samuel set up a great stone as a memorial to remind his people that God had saved them in battle. He called the stone “Eben-ezer,” or “stone of help.” (See 1 Samuel 7:10–12.)

The Apostle Paul spoke of the Savior “nailing [our sins] to his cross” (see Colossians 2:13–15) and offering forgiveness to all who repent.

In the Old Testament, the word “portion” refers to an inheritance (see Psalm 119:57). “Jesus is my portion” expresses our hope in an eternal inheritance with the Lord.

During the Last Supper, the Savior “took bread: and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me” (see 1 Corinthians 11:23–24). The Savior’s flesh was broken when He was brutally scourged and nailed to the cross. But in fulfillment of prophecy, none of His bones were broken (see John 19:32–36 , Link, ).

  1010. Amazing Grace

This beloved hymn reminds us of Nephi’s anguished cry: “O wretched man that I am!” Then, remembering the Lord’s mercy, Nephi added, “My soul will rejoice in thee, my God” (2 Nephi 4:17, 30). The text of this hymn was included in an early hymnbook of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1841.

  1016. Behold the Wounds in Jesus’ Hands.
1. Behold the wounds in Jesus’ hands, The mark upon His side, Then ponder whom He meant to save When on the cross He died. We cannot see the love of God, Which saves us from the Fall, Yet know that Christ from wood and nails Built mansions for us all.
2. Behold the outstretched hands of Christ— Our Lord, who came to save— Whose love and grace redeem our souls And lift us from the grave. Though we are bruised whene’er we stray, His guiding hands caress. He washes and anoints with oil, And in His arms we rest.

The words “Christ from wood and nails built mansions for us all” are a poetic expression that reminds us of the Savior’s Crucifixion and His gift of eternal life. The Lord told His disciples: “In my Father’s house are many mansions. … I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2).

  1017. This Is the Christ

They felt the wounds in hands and side, And each could testify: This is the Christ. This is the Christ, the holy Son of God— Our Savior, Lord, Redeemer of mankind. 2. I read His words, the words He prayed While bearing sorrow in Gethsemane. I feel His love, the price He paid. How many drops of blood were spilled for me? With Saints of old in joyful cry I too can testify: This is the Christ. This is the Christ, the holy Son of God— Our Savior, Lord, Redeemer of mankind. This is the Christ, the Healer of our souls, Who ransomed us with love divine.
After His Resurrection, Jesus Christ visited a group of faithful people in the ancient Americas who were awaiting His prophesied appearance. Verse 1 refers to that sacred event (see 3 Nephi 11). Verse 2 describes how we feel today as we read about His great atoning sacrifice.
