Hello students!

As the beginning of another fall semester appears on the horizon, so does another year of advocacy, connection, hard work, and, of course, plenty of fun with the Utah Association of Blind Students. Before the assignments start piling up and our calendars become packed with classes, meetings, and everything else college life throws our way, we’re getting things started with one of our most anticipated events of the year: the annual UTABS student hike! Join us on Saturday, August 22 and meet other blind students, connect with the UTABS board, and start the academic year on a high note!

Rocky Mouth Trailhead
11248 Wasatch Blvd
Sandy, UT 84092

Rocky Mouth is about one mile round trip and ends at a beautiful waterfall. It’s a short and approachable hike, so whether you’re an experienced hiker or don’t spend much time on the trails, this is something everyone can enjoy. Come ready for some fresh air, great vibes, and even better company!

Transportation: You can meet us directly at the trailhead by 11:00 AM or join us on FrontRunner. UTABS ambassadors will meet students at three stations:

Ogden

Provo

We’ll meet at Draper Station around 10:30 AM and coordinate Ubers from there to the trailhead. If you’re taking FrontRunner, please arrive somewhat early so you have time to meet your UTABS ambassador before the train departs.

After the hike, we’ll head to Swig for a sweet treat and some more time to hang out!

Whether this is your first UTABS event or you already know the crew, we hope you’ll join us for a fun Saturday of hiking, good conversations, new connections, and a well earned Swig afterward. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone and starting another great academic year together!
