Subject: Disability.gov Education Research & Statistics Update: Access
to Educational & Community Activities for Young Children with Disabilities

Based on data from the Pre-Elementary Education Longitudinal Study
<https://www.peels.org/default.asp> (PEELS), this report examines access
for young children with disabilities to community activities, including
extracurricular activities and family recreation, and kindergarten
classroom experiences. It also describes how participation in these
activities may vary by school district characteristics. For example, the
study found that children in very poor school districts were less likely
to have regular education classrooms as their main education setting
compared to children in wealthier districts.
