hi.
well a member of blind geeks.
and asked to write a short basic tutorial on css.
did learn css in my web design course in 2007.
and di use it a bit to tweek a web project recently.
but my question is:
what resources and what links to some tutorials to get a handle on how to
write a short css tutorial.
and how to write one.
and what do i need to put in it.
just asking.
i do know css, but a bit rusty.
and totally blind.
so the biggest problem, where things are located on screen.
so any one got any ideas where to start and how to write a tutorial for this
technical group.
Marvin.

Hello:

In my web design class, my instructor had us go to
http://www.w3schools.com

The site has lots of free tutorials on html, xhtml, xml, php, asp and more.
Hope this helps.

Regards,

Robert Jaquiss

hi.
got a series of sites, which i developed in internet explorer 6 or 7.
and now when i try to read the font name.
in internet explorer 8.
it does not read the name.
got a style sheet and have got the fonts added.
and the style sheet is atached to the right locations.
in internet explorer 7, would read the font name on the element like a
heading, list, or paragraph.
so how to fix this.
is it a microsoft problem or a jaws problem.
as using jaws 11.
windows internet explorer 8, windows vista.
cheers Marvin.

I'd guess that speaking a font name is the job of the screen reader.
Can you test with an older version? Of course, the browser or operating
system may no longer be providing the info to the screen reader with the
expected method.

This is why I propose that we make a project to make a site holy for
computer programmers. When yo put in a code, it will tell you in text
what it will do in advance. Surely it will take a long time in this
project, but the advantages are enormous with tutorials and
recommended textbooks for the blind programmer. Look at other
tutorials and write down notes from w3schools.com and others on how
best to write one. Maybe ask in Yahoo answers or wiki answers to fin
out how they did it. Maybe put it in multiple search engines on how
best to write a cascading style sheet tutorial. I understand that this
is challenging though and all of the best from another programmer.
