Yes, the IPN would be more difficult, but it can be done. I would not use it
unless you have a specific reason to. Generating the pay now button works
well.

sorry i wasn't more specific, yes, meant ipn and making a single paypal
button is easy but copying/sending user info to fields on/in paypal is
difficult.
