Steve,

Here is a site for you to check out. Here at USDA we believe in explicite labeling.

Steve,

The best thing is to use the "for" and "id=" attributes. I will get you an example. Also, you might look on webaim.org.

Subject: [Nfb-web] Labeling Edit Fields

I have been involved in testing a voter registration form for the office of our Secretary of State here in Minnesota. One issue that we found was that labeling of edit boxes seemed to work inconsistently with all screen readers. Is there an attribute that can be set to reliably cause a label to me spoken without regard to appearance?

I would appreciate any thoughts from those of you who know something about this.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson
