Hello,
I want to mirror some of what has already been said. Generally
affiliates do not pay their other board positions. While this may be a
great step into the web design market, if the affiliate does not pay for
web design then there's not to many other options. If you want work,
simply do not volunteer for the affiliates who do not pay or request
payment and leave it alone if they decide not to pay you. Affiliates not
paying for webmasters is not a mark of the NFB, it's up to that
individual affiliate and their available funding. Putting limitations on
webmasters who will be hired or volunteer after you have parted ways,
regardless of the stipulations is in general bad business; there really
are two scenarios that I can see in either way. first, you were hired
and the affiliate chose to either not pay you anymore or you chose not
to work for the affiliate, in which case you rendered services, they
were paid for and what they do with the website after that is their own
business. Second, you volunteered and they paid you nothing, in which
case they are even less beholden to you because you provided the
services free, of your own choice.
If you are a good web developer with the skillset to build any website,
I recommend you look elsewhere for opportunities. It is clear that you
find working for affiliates distasteful; if you are of the caliber you
believe yourself, finding work outside of affiliates should be no
problem in any case.
