[Nfb-web] Tools for debugging CSS

Hello all,

For those web developers out there who work with complex sites based on WordPress, Drupal, or the like, what tools do you find the most useful for debugging CSS issues? Specifically, which browsers and add-ins work well with JAWS for finding the sneaky CSS bugs which cause trouble on busy web pages with lots of widgets, deep div nesting, and so forth?

Recently I have been trying to use the web development features of Firefox (with and without the FireBug add-in) and Internet Explorer to figure out why some text is invisible and why other elements are not rendering correctly, but nothing I have tried seems to work as well as it used to a few years ago when I formerly dealt with such troubles. I also tried installing Chrome to see if that works any better, but it fails to install.

I can get to the DOM representations of the web page being debugged, and I can get to a CSS listing, but trying to inspect a specific element does not show me the exact CSS properties of that element. I have not been able to find online documentation to make this work, either. I must be missing something.

Any suggestions would help and would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much,
Joe
