BECOME A MENTOR:    GIVE BACK TO THE NEXT GENERATION OF BLIND YOUTH

 

The National Federation of the Blind of Georgia is accepting applications
throughout Georgia for its new Operation Passageway Mentoring Program.

 

Blind Mentees will be matched with two to three successful blind Mentors
with strong blindness skills and positive attitudes about blindness.

 

Purpose:  Is to operate to build a strong foundation for blind students
transitioning from mid-teens, age 14 through early adulthood, age 21 in the
vocational rehabilitation process.

 

Mentors will provide in a group setting,  pre-employment transition training
to include, expanding and practicing blindness skills and self-advocacy,
receive work readiness training, engage in career exploration, and
participate in other activities designed to increase independence and
enhance self-confidence resulting in a successful passageway to
postsecondary academic success, high-quality employment, and community
integration.  

 

Please consider becoming a Mentor. Mentors are the backbone of the NFB of
Georgia Operation Passageway Mentoring Program.
