*Subject:* Vote info for senate runoff

*Thank you for inviting me to the Georgia Vision Alliance Meeting!*

*As you know, January 5, 2021, is an important election. It is the runoff
election for Georgia’s two Senate seats. *

*Absentee ballots were being mailed starting on November 18, 2020. Each
person may need to request an absentee ballot. This can be done
online:* *https://ballotrequest.sos.ga.gov
<https://ballotrequest.sos.ga.gov>*

*For those who want to print and mail the absentee ballot request form, see
below**:*

<https://sos.ga.gov/admin/files/Absentee%20Ballot%20Fillable%20form%20820.pdf>*

*Requesting an absentee ballot should be done as soon as possible. Once the
person receives their absentee ballot, they may request that you assist
them with completing the ballot and returning the ballot. *

*The Secretary of State’s office suggested to me that it would be prudent
to return absentee ballots before December 25 to ensure there is enough
time for the ballot to arrive at the county election board by January 5,
2021, at 7pm.*

*People can register to vote, check the status of their registration, and
check the status of their absentee ballot at**:*

*If a person will be 18 years old by January 5, 2021, they can vote in the
runoff if they are a registered voter. If you are not yet a registered
voter, you must register to vote by December 7, 2020, to vote in the
January 5, 2021, runoff.*

*If a person is under a guardianship or conservatorship in Georgia, they
can vote unless there is a court order removing their right to vote. It
would be rare for the court to take away a person’s right to vote.*

*Please feel free to email me or call me at 404-849-8209 if you have any
questions, or if there are additional training needs/resources you would
like.*

*Thank you,*

*Cheri Mitchell*

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
