*HOUSING VOUCHERS OPENING*

The DCA Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program wait list will *open from
April 22-26*. This is a tenant-based rental assistance program, formerly
called Section 8, that assists extremely low- and low-income individuals
and families rent safe, decent, and affordable dwelling units in the
private rental market.

*Options include* single-family homes, townhouses, and apartments.

*Complete lists of the counties and cities in which DCA administers the HCV

. The remaining 10 counties in Georgia are served by their local housing
authorities.
*The waiting list will be open for applications from April 22, 2021 to
April 26, 2021. *It will be available 24 hours on each designated day.

*If selected to receive a Housing Choice Voucher, *all subsidy payments
will be paid directly to the landlord, on behalf of the family.

*To qualify for the Housing Choice Voucher program, applicants must meet
these eligibility requirements:*

   - Eligibility is determined by the total annual gross income and family
   size.
   - Household income must not exceed 50% of the median income for the
   county or metropolitan area in which your family chooses to live.

The applicant must be a US citizen or fall within a specified category of
non-citizens who have eligible immigration status.
