Good afternoon, it turns out that you do NOT need to use a screen reader
for this study, I was misled. They are going to ask questions and observe
how blind/low vision users use/interact with smartTVs. It’s $150 for
participation. See below:

*Smart TV in-home study:*

at Shepherd Center invites people who are blind or have low vision to be a
part of a study on use of smart TVs.

This study consists of two activities: 1) a pre-interview survey, and 2) an
in-home interview to understand how people watch TV and how they have set
up their devices. The interview takes about 90 minutes and will take place
at the participant’s home. Researchers will observe participants while
activating and watching a smart TV and ask questions about their smart TV
use. The overall purpose of the study is better understand the daily
experiences of low-vision and blind people and their interactions with
smart TV.

To be eligible you must:

• Have low-vision or be blind

• Have a smart TV

• Be between age 18 to 65

• Live in Atlanta area

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
