Hello, National Federation of the Blind of Georgia, friends and family
members. We need everyone's assistance.
This legislative alert email is the first of 2 emails you will receive.
The second email will have all the education Committee members' names and
contact information.
There are 2 examples of what you want to say. One as a constituent of one
of the committee members and the other example is if you are not a
constituent. Please fill in the pertinent information where you see
the brackets.
The goal is to send as many emails or calls to the members of the Georgia
House of Representatives of the Education Committee to urge them to put
the "Blind Persons' Braille Literacy Rights and Education Act (HB 341), to
a vote in their committee.
If you are a constituent of one of the members on the list that will follow
this email, please email or call that particular committee member. Here is
what you will say.
Constituent:
Hello Representative (reps last name). My name is (your first and last
name here), I live in (District # here). I urged the Georgia State
Education Committee to bring HB 341 for a committee vote. This bill has
already passed the Senate,
(SB 4) and therefore needs immediate House attention. The bill will
dramatically improve Literacy for all blind or visually impaired students
in Georgia.
