Welcome to The Midnight Express
Dates:
Saturday, AUGUST 23, 2025
Location:
COLUMBUS, Georgia.
the Midnight Express kicked off back in the 1970s as a fun run through the neighborhoods around Cross Country Hill. Over the years, it’s grown into a full-on 5K road race that draws more than 2,000 runners from across the country—all to help raise funds for the visually impaired. This race has become a true community tradition, signaling the end of summer and the start of fall, and it’s packed with good food, live music, and plenty of vendors.
And don’t worry, you don’t have to be a runner to join the fun. The race ends with a barbecue sandwich and a big ol’ glass of sweet tea for all participants, so even if you’re just there to cheer, you’ll be in for a treat! Whether you’re running under the stars or hanging out with 1,000 of your closest friends, it’s one of the most exciting ways to ring in the new season.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. Our collective power, determination, and diversity achieve the aspirations of all blind people.
