This is a call to action for all Blind Georgians

 

attached you will find our Affiliate NFB of Georgia resolution policy regarding the Texas v. Kennedy Lawsuit that threatens the protections under Section 504 of the rehabilitation Act. This resolution was passed unanimously by the Georgia Affiliate Board, and now we are urging all members to email the following request to our state’s Attorney General office at ccarr at law.ga.gov <mailto:ccarr at law.ga.gov> , and copy John Pare at JPare at nfb.org <mailto:JPare at nfb.org> .

“Dear Attorney General Chris Carr,

 

My name is [enter Your Name Here] and I am a resident of Georgia, and/or a member of the National Federation of the Blind of Georgia. Attached is a resolution that has been passed by the Georgia Affiliate of the National Federation of the Blind, calling for you to withdraw Georgia from the Texas v. Kennedy lawsuit. If the Plaintiffs’ demands in this lawsuit are granted, it will have a devastating impact on blind Americans’ rights to effective communication and reasonable accommodation in connection with government programs, services, and activities, including but not limited to education, employment, housing, healthcare, and other forms of civic life. We are urging you to withdraw the state of Georgia from this lawsuit.
