Happy Sunday everyone:

I just want to share a few things with you on this wonderful Arizona Summer day.

Speaking of the Summer, although we feel every year that the summer starts in May the official start to summer was June 21st, so welcome to summer 😊

Let’s start with some Family news.

As some of you may know, Scott underwent a Kidney transplant early last week. The transplant went well. He is currently out of the hospital and is at home. Rachel and his mom are by his side. Please join me and sending him a big congratulations and positive vibes. I know he’ll appreciate people contacting him so please send him a message or call him as well. We love you, Scott! We are excited for you and your new future!

The summer also means convention so read below for some national and state convention news.

*	If you are going to New Orleans, I look forward to seeing you there. Please let me know if you are going. You can call me at 951-316-5363. Maybe we can have a Phoenix Chapter meet up 😊
*	National convention will have a lot of opportunities to volunteer. This includes at the Arizona table in the exhibit hall. Please reach out to Rachel if you are interested in volunteering. You can email her at rkuntz at saavi.us <mailto:rkuntz at saavi.us> Thanks to Rachel for all her hard work in re-organizing our sweatshirts!!! I personally know how much she put into that effort.
*	I will be sending out a lot of emails to this list about convention. so just be aware. These will be emails from our affiliate and national.
*	The convention agenda can be found by visiting: https://nfb.org/get-involved/national-convention/2022-national-convention-agenda
*	Remember, there will be something offered virtually everyday but most events will only be offered in person. I do hope that you are still able to tune in virtually even if you are not going in person.
*	I am not aware of when the Arizona Coccus will be, but we will know soon 😊

State convention:

*	Will be held September 1-4 in Tucson. The board voted on it being held in person during their meeting this month.
*	Please stay tune for open registration. You will be able to register during national convention. You can visit www.az.nfb.org <http://www.az.nfb.org>
*	It will be held at the University Mariott hotel, at which room rates are $104 plus 19% tax
*	Please email nfb.az.president at gmaill.com <mailto:nfb.az.president at gmaill.com> with any seminar ideas and ways you can help run that seminar.

Chapter News:

*	Our chapter voted to forgo the July meeting so our next meeting will be Saturday, August 6.
*	The chapter agreed to hold the meetings at Saavi Services for the Blind for the rest of the year. There will still be a virtual component. Address is 2920 N 7th St Phoenix AZ 85014
*	Don’t forget that our chapter picnic will take place on October 1st! We can’t wait! If you are interested in helping plan, please connect with Rachel.
*	We are looking for people to join the state legislative committee. If that is you, please let me know.
*	Speaking of committees, if you are interested in joining one of our chapter committees, we would love to have you. These include:

*	Membership
*	Fundraising
*	Social
*	Community Outreach
*	Technology

*	We will have a meeting for these committees soon, so please join in! IT takes everyone to help us reach our goal and be who we know we can be 😊
*	And finally! We are working on establishing our t-shirt fundraiser and Betty and the team are hard at work on this. Check your emails because it’s coming soon!!!

Thank you for reading this and I hope you are well. Looking forward to seeing you in New Orleans. I know how much dedication and passion is put into this chapter and it is appreciated. Together, we can get blind people in Phoenix to live the lives they want.

 Let’s go build the National Federation of the Blind!
