Phoenix Family:

 

 

As we make the turn into August, I hope you are filling the energy of national still and are starting the feel the buzz of our state convention. I am excited for our chapter as we have came a long way. We are working toward something special here in Phoenix and we have another chance to show it at the convention. I am proud of our members and your dedication in making sure blind people in Phoenix know the truth of the life they can live.

Some of us in the chapter had the honor of attending yesterday’s arangements and celebration of life for longtime Arizona Federation leader Ruth Swenson. It was a loving experience and we should be honored that Ruth was a leader of our affiliate for so many years. Her influence is felt and will be felt for years to come.

On Saturday we will have our chapter meeting and we will talk about ways we can support her as a chapter. I also encourage you to consider donating.

A few other notes:

*	Remember that I will be naming a nominating committee at Septembers’ meeting. If you are planning to run for a position please email nfbphoenixchapter at gmail.com <mailto:nfbphoenixchapter at gmail.com> ; all board and officer positions are up. Elections will take place in November.
*	We do have a chapter meeting on Saturday. Because of convention being in August, we will have it virtual.
*	Beasley just sent an email out about donating door prizes/auction items. Please see 😊
*	Make sure you are registering for state convention! Az.nfb.org/convention
*	And have a great Week
