<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="mso-bookmark:_Hlk78794793">Attendees participated in the Pledge of Allegiance, NFB Pledge, and the NFB One-Minute Message. Prayers were offered by meeting participants.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="mso-bookmark:_Hlk78794793">Secretary’s Report Business Meeting Minutes, November 2021, December 2021, and January 2022.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="mso-bookmark:_Hlk78794793">Cindy Garfio moved to send the Business Meeting Minutes for November 2021 and December 2021 by email to be approved at the next business meeting. Mike Smith seconded. The
motion carried.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="mso-bookmark:_Hlk78794793">Rachel Kuntz, Secretary gave the business meeting minutes for January 2022. Sharonda Goode made a motion to approve the minutes as read. Cindy Garfio seconded. Brad asked
to include Cheri Wells, Ain’t Nick’s Tavern in the minutes. The motion carried.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="mso-bookmark:_Hlk78794793">Treasurer’s Report by Donna Silba, Treasurer, February 5, 2022 total balance is $1499. Mike Smith moved to accept the report as read. Monica Nunez seconded. The motion
carried. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="mso-bookmark:_Hlk78794793">Presidential Release #513, 2-1-22 Recap by Jordan Moon, Vice President. 2022 Washington Seminar is completely virtual. It kicks off on Monday, February 7 with the Great
Gathering In. After a letter writing campaign, the Biden administration responded by directing them to the FOOD and Drug Administration to continue the conversation. Meanwhile, the NFB national office has been testing different at home tests for accessibility.
The Blind Driver challenge in collaboration with Cruise Automation to promote self-driving cars. The blind driver, Dan Parker plans to drive 110 mph. Valerie Yingling is collecting information about anyone who has been denied a ride from Lyft from Jan 24 to
31 because of their blindness/guide dog. Jordan suggested to contact her if you were denied a ride anytime so we can take action on ride sharing services when they discriminate. Brad mentioned that a survey went out seeking input in regard to the forming of
a blind civil rights museum.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="mso-bookmark:_Hlk78794793">Legislative Report National/affiliate - Brad announced that Doug Metoyer was appointed to represent Phoenix on the affiliate Legislative Committee. Doug reported that the
Phoenix Seminar Letter writing campaign was successful. Jordan let us know that State Senator, Tyler Pace sponsored our early ballot voting bill. The bill is SB6263. Donald Porterfield, Affiliate President, reported that two of our issues are under consideration.
The older blind funding is being put forward at $500,000. The only issue remaining to get sponsored is the Braille certification. Another letter writing campaign will be needed to ensure support. Doug mentioned that we should be sure to disseminate the information
out to our friends and family to strengthen our message. Donald reported that the state board meeting will be virtual. We have several appointments arranged for the Washington Seminar. More details will be forthcoming. The conversation will be as concise as
possible in respect to their time. Members in the meeting district will get priority to speak very briefly. It is recommended to develop a 30 second sound bite for the issue that resonates most with you.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="mso-bookmark:_Hlk78794793">Active Participation -Brad mentioned that March will be the last time we can meet at the 4222 E. Thomas SAAVI location. We will need to determine a meeting location for
the month of April. Jordan reported that the new location at 2920 N. 7 St, Phoenix, AZ 85014 will not be an option for April due to the timing of the move. Brad mentioned that Doug will represent us on the affiliate Legislative Committee. Betty love has accepted
the role of chair of the Fundraising Committee. Joe Goode is leading the technology Committee. All members are encouraged to participate.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="mso-bookmark:_Hlk78794793">Membership Committee report from Monica Nunez, Chair. The committee reviewed the membership roster. Vicki Hodges will be sending new member information to the national
office so that they can get the welcome information. Fred Rockwell and Shellie Gaines were voted in. Mike Smith made the motion and Cindy seconded. The motion carried. Sheri and Christianna were welcomed back. Sheri committed to full time membership. The committee
plans to reach out to the people receiving a free white cane and members they haven’t heard from in a while. Brad committed to contact members without email to provide important meeting information. Donna reported that Cesar was voted in the same meeting as
Scott Tokunaga. Sharonda has dues for Julia Green. Brad collected dues from those present at the center.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="mso-bookmark:_Hlk78794793">Tech Committee report by Joe Goode, Chair. The committee so far is Sharonda, Brandon, and himself. If interested in joining the committee send him an email at

out. Joe is thinking of putting together a zoom seminar to teach advanced skills using zoom such as hosting and sound controls. He is preparing an outline and will send out the details soon.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="mso-bookmark:_Hlk78794793">Social Committee members Monica and Cindy mentioned wanting to participate in the Aloha Festival. They would like to have a social meet-up and an outreach table. Outreach
and Social committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Feb 8 to talk more about the event. Cindy mentioned that we might be able to have our April meeting at a park. The committee will investigate options that would include a virtual component. Rachel moved
that we hold our April meeting/picnic at a location TBD. Cindy seconded. The motion carried.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="mso-bookmark:_Hlk78794793">Community Outreach” Committee report by Rachel. Invited people to join the meeting Tuesday night to help plan for the picnic and Aloha Festival. Cindy suggested that we
look into volunteering with the Feed My Starving Children charity. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="mso-bookmark:_Hlk78794793">Fundraising Committee report by Brad. Betty Love, Chair is working on a T-shirt to benefit the chapter. The shirts have no over-head and would raise $10 for every shirt
sold. A suggestion was made that we hold another round of fudge sales for easter since May would be too hot for delivery. Cindy moved that we sell Fudge in March which would be delivered near Easter. Mike seconded. The motion carried.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="mso-bookmark:_Hlk78794793">Promoting the new chapter constitution. Brad noted that Vicky is working on a project to get our constitution in the hands of the state and the national task force working
to update the constitution/template. Vicky is drafting a letter which will go to the affiliate president and will be sent on to the task force. Brad acknowledged the hard work of the committee to create a new constitution.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="mso-bookmark:_Hlk78794793">National Convention Discussion lead by Brad. He suggested that members start thinking about their ability to go to convention. The chapter and the state will set aside
funds to assist with some expenses but not all. Jordan mentioned that those receiving assistance will be expected to attend meetings, volunteer in exhibit hall, and attend banquet. Fred shared a story of his convention experience. He stated that you don’t
really know what the NFB is really all about until you have gone to a national convention. He feels that we should incorporate a philosophy discussion into every meeting. Cindy shared that her most powerful experience was taking the plane to convention and
standing under her umbrella for the world record umbrella mosaic. Brad suggested that we could hold topical discussions on things like technology at the meeting and find ways to incorporate philosophy into meetings or supplemental meetings. Rachel suggested
that we talk about budgeting for the convention at the next meeting. Brad said that we could do that in new business.
