<p class="MsoNormal">I look forward to hanging with each of you. We have two fun things to consider for the upcoming Aloha festival. You are welcome to join us as a volunteer at our information table and/or just hang out and enjoy the event socially . Here
are the details to consider as you make plans.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Aloha Festival<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">MARCH 12 and 13 - 10 AM to 5 PM both days.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Opening ceremony Saturday at 9:30 AM<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Free family event at Tempe Beach Park; 54 W. Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe, AZ 85281<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The phoenix chapter will be there for a social outing from 11 AM to 2 PM on Saturday. Meet at the Ohana Village at 11 AM to hang out together. All are welcome.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Volunteers are Needed Saturday and Sunday for an information table at the Ohana Village. This table will have two chairs for two people to give out information about blindness such as NFB, SAAVI, and NLS materials, and those who have a
slate and stylus can write out a note for those who stop by. We will also have individually wrapped candy. I am looking for a volunteer to stay for at least one hour at a time to hand out materials and chat with people curious ab out blindness. Reach out
to me at 937-245-0547 to confirm a time slot that you can assist with on Saturday and or Sunday. Text or call with details. Each time slot will have just two people.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Parking for the event is up to the individual. There is a garage near to Tempe Beach Park. I am still waiting on confirmation of an official drop off location from the event planners. I will send out an email early next week with additional

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Do not attend the festival if you are feeling sick. There are other viruses besides Covid, like the flu, that also are out there and are transmissible through the air.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">If you are at high risk, consider waiting for the next Festival. Hospitals are overburdened now so we don’t want you getting sick and at risk of complications.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">We strongly recommend wearing a face covering. Yes, the Festival is outdoors and lessens risk of transmission or exposure. But yes, the current Covid variation is extremely transmissible.
Wear the covering for yourself, your ohana, and especially for keiki (children) and elders.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">You must follow all posted or publicly announced instructions while attending the festival. That includes any instructions posted not only by the festival but also individual
vendor booth spaces.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">By attending Arizona Aloha Festival, you voluntarily assume all risks<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">related to exposure to COVID-19.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public space where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and
death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens, and those with underlying medical conditions, are especially vulnerable.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

stage staff and set aside for claiming later.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">When at stages: personal umbrellas are only allowed behind the section with chairs, keep them low so you don't block others. No golf umbrellas at the stages.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">No tents, popups, or shade structures: We agree the park is not full of shady trees but no personal tents at the event can be allowed.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">There's a long list of reasons: safety, courtesy to others, and restrictions of our host, the Park. These actions are simply not allowed.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
