<p class="MsoNormal">Call to Order-Jordan Moon, President<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt">Roll Call: 18 MEMBERS AND 3 guests ATTENDED.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt">Attendees participated in the Pledge of Allegiance, the NFB Pledge, and the NFB One-Minute Message. Prayers were offered by meeting participants.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Presidential Report-Jordan. Jordan acknowledged how great of a job we are doing and how dedicated each of us are to reaching out to our congress and legislatures. Keep up the splendid work.

<p class="MsoNormal">Treasurer’s Report – Donna Silba, Treasurer, February 2023<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt">Vicki Farley Moved to accept the report as read. Rachel Kuntz seconded. motion carried.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Presidential Release no release at time of meeting <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Legislative Report National/affiliate. Jordan discussed the Phoenix Seminar on Jan 17 and the Washington Seminar. We held a hybrid approach to the Phoenix seminar. A few people went to the capital and others submitted emails to their legislators.
Donald Porterfield, Affiliate President spoke about our work in Washington and the work that will be needed when our bills begin to build momentum. We will all have a role to play in getting our initiatives passed. Remember to stick with the language we decided
on and not to suggest alternatives so as not to confuse legislators.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">He will talk more in-depth about legislative updates at the upcoming Affiliate Board meeting. In Washington we are Advocating for Website and software accessibility act, medical device accessible act, and Blind Americans return to work
act. Jordan will invite someone to talk about the ABEL accounts signed into law by President Biden.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Membership Committee -New Member Welcome -Vicki Hodges and Monica Nunez, Co-Chairs. Vicki mentioned that they are in contact with a couple of people who are interested in joining the chapter but have not yet been able to come to a meeting.
Jordan encouraged people to invite guests.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Fundraising Committee - Betty Love, Chair: popcorn sales project is still in the works. Jordan reminded the chapter that we all need to help with the work of fundraising, that Betty should not do the work alone. Betty proposed a social
with pizza and raffle in March. The chapter discussed many ways of working in the social and raffle. The chapter decided to have a 50/50 raffle in March and $5 per person pizza and drink as a social rather than going out to lunch. At the picnic we will hold
an auction/raffle for the chapter. Betty mentioned that doing this helps to educate people. Nick mentioned some of the items that would be on auction such as Beats headphones.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Rachel moved that we hold a $5 per person pizza party/raffle in March. Mike seconded. The motion carried.
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Outreach Committee: Rachel, chair-gave a MLK day Re-cap. Several members worked at the table and a few people walked in the 3.2-mile march. She thanked everyone for their role, and everyone had a wonderful time. We will do this again next
year. Joy Harris asked that we have better communication about our schedule.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Jordan raised a discussion of the BELL program this summer and noted that there will be more information to come. Consider volunteering.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Rachel moved that we allocate $50 for lunch to support the BELL camp. Roy Stinson seconded. The motion carried.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Social Committee: Joy Harris, Chair. We are in the process of planning the picnic. She is going to check into getting Popeye’s through her son Jay.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Technology Committee-Joe Goode, Chair. He will hold a meeting by March to talk about how to help with the convention especially ideas for a tech seminar. Barbara Jones is interested in taking part in the committee. Nick mentioned a new
smart home device. Mike mentioned teaching a streaming seminar and a Tech Q and a.

<p class="MsoNormal">State Division and committee updates <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Connie LaBlond invited people to attend the Friday 10 AM Senior meeting and the group meeting at 11 AM at Saavi in Phoenix. Stay for lunch.<o:p></o:p></p>
<h3>New Business<o:p></o:p></h3>
<p class="MsoNormal">Norma Roberts Wagner Picnic Plans-April 1 -we will meet to discuss more plans for the picnic in February.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Philosophy –– Getting in Good Trouble, lead by Jordan Moon, played video of Congressman John Lewis speaking to NFB Student Division members. We took time to discuss how much this speech spoke to us. Many members remarked about how powerful
the speech is and how much it still resonates with us today. Jordan encouraged us to continue to get into good trouble.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Announcements<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Rachel mentioned to check the Uber ap to see if you qualify for the refund for the wait time fees.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Jordan invited people to the Ability Builds Confidence class at Saavi. Its free and all are welcome to learn about blindness.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Birthdays/Anniversaries were celebrated.<o:p></o:p></p>
