to help with logistics for any of these events. Everyone is welcome to
join!!

*1. **Tucson Meet Yourself*

When: October 8th

Time: 1pm – whenever you’d like to leave

Where: Meet at Southwest Corner of Pennington and Stone

Details: October 8th Meet at 1pm at Southwest Corner of Pennington and
Stone. Your transportation will probably not be able to bring you all the
way but will be able to bring you to Congress and Stone and you only have
to walk one block north. You can use 25 N Stone as the destination address
for your transportation.

During this event, participants will be able to walk around the festival
handing out braille alphabet cards, connecting with the Tucson Community
and sharing about Blindness Equality Achievement Month.

A little bit about Tucson Meet Yourself: Founded in 1974 by folklorist Jim
Griffith and his wife, Loma Griffith, Tucson Meet Yourself is an annual
celebration of the living traditional arts of Southern Arizona's diverse
ethnic and folk communities.

*2. **Pima County Recorders Express Voting Machine Training*

When: October 11th

Time: 9:30- 10:30am

Where: Abrams Center at 3950 S. Country Club Road

Details: We will be visiting the Pima County Recorders voting stations to
test out the Express Vote Machines that they have on site and give the
staff and volunteers feedback on their process and training. The staff and
volunteers will have all received training from the Direct Advocacy
Resource Center by the time of our visit. Whether you plan to vote by mail
or not, it would be extremely beneficial for everyone to come help train
and give feedback so that the Pima County Recorders office can make the
experience of blind voters as efficient, private and positive as possible.

Where: Have transportation drop you off at: 200 S Alvernon Way by the
Randolph Recreation Center.

Details: The goal of this event is to get out in the public and have
passersby seeing our long white canes in action! We will walk around the
Reid Park walking path which is roughly 3 miles but people can do as much
or as little of that walking path as they would like. We will also have a
table set up for those who do not wish to walk but would like to
participate and talk to the public as they walk by. Everyone will have
literature available to pass out and connect with our local community! Make
sure to wear sunscreen, a hat and bring a water bottle because even though
it is October you need to protect yourself and stay hydrated!

they provide as they reintroduce themselves to the community, share their
story and resources.

volunteering to work with Tucson Police and Tucson Department of
Transportation to manage the flow of Cyclovia traffic at busier
intersections. We will have a table to talk about National Federation of
Blind, connect with thousands of participants as they wait at street
crossings.

Cyclovia Tucson is an Open Streets event which temporarily re-purposes our
public streets to be more inclusive of all people. Walk, bike, roll, scoot.
