Dear Federationist

I am writing to you to update you on our National Federation of the blind
 new parents division of blind children of Arizona  board. We are thankful
and honored to be able to serve you and help parents and children grow in
our community this coming year 2025-2026.

First let me thank you all of you that attended the parents division
meeting at convention. The convention seems to go by so quickly and I enjoy
every moment but also know that sometimes it can be a lot, but I don’t want
us to lose that momentum this year. I know that it can be difficult to
balance many things so I would like you to know that we would like you to
rest and then jump right in to the adventure of the parents division. There
will be some activities you may not be able to attend and that is ok, the
more participation though can only make us stronger together. [image: 😊]

I would like to tell you a little about myself as your President for this
year. My name is Heather. I am a Daughter, sister, mother, friend, and
coworker. I have five children ages 16, 15, 13, 11, and 8. I enjoy books, I
use audiobooks. I like swimming, horseback riding, crafts and playing board
games with my kids. I also enjoy shopping with my girls, but sometimes that
can  get me in trouble [image: 😂]



I am thankful for my job and have been with the same company for three
years. My family is very connected with our local church and volunteer when
needed. This can mean my Sundays and Wednesdays are pretty difficult to get
a hold of me but I will do my best to respond as soon as I can.   I have a
degree in early education and have for many years love to serve families
and help little ones grow. I have so much fun with children and  as someone
 who is  blind and having to parent someone with a visual impairment I have
a desire to help parents through this journey and combine my knowledge of
children and my experience as a parent and share with others.

Leslie, if you already have paid your dues, thank you. If you have not,
that is quite all right we would like you to either visit our national
webpage to do this or you can also give it to myself or Brenda Lopez. If
you do pay your dues on the webpage, please inform me or Brenda that you
did, and when so that we can record you as an active member of our division.



As an incentive those of you who pay your dues before our first meeting on
September 4 will be entered into a drawing for A $10 Amazon gift card
